Welcome to the website of the Kilkenny City Storm, an ice hockey team based in Kilkenny, Ireland. Our team was formed around June 2007, and contains local players as well as a mixture of foreign talent. We are competing in the second season of the Irish Ice Hockey Development League. Last year we came second place in the league, and are looking to build on that success this year.

Congratulations to Craig Fay :: 5th March 08

Congratulations are in order for Kilkenny City Storm player Craig Fay, who was announced as part of the roster for the Ireland under 18 team this week.
The squad will be competing in the IIHF World U18 Championship Division III B in Erzurum, Turkey, which runs from Monday 9th March to Sunday 15th March.
Best of luck to Craig and to general manager Mick Cummins at the tournament which is sure to be the experience of a lifetime for all involved.

Congratulations to Mick Cummins :: 9th December 08

Congratulations to Storm manager Mr. Mick Cummins, who has been appointed to the position of general manager of Team Ireland's under-18 squad.
Mr. Cummins has a successful career in business in his home city Kilkenny and has had a major role in developing and sustaining our sport in its southernmost outpost on this island.
Coach Keith Daly from the Flyers I.H.C. has warmly welcomed this, and, the appointment of Team Ireland Senior Equipment Supremo John Crawley to look after their technical requirements.

This is a very high level backroom team that has been assembled, now let's see what happens in Erzurum.

New Season Begins! :: 30th September 08

The new season of the IIHL and the IIHDL will start again this weekend, 4/5th October. Once again the Storm will be competing in the Development Division, and will be looking to build upon the success of our last season. This year the league contains 14 teams and will certainly be tougher and even more exciting than last season, so we're all looking forward to some good hard matches.

The Storm's first game is against the revamped Latvian Hawks team and should be a great match. Faceoff is at 3.20pm on Sunday 5th October, in the Dundalk Ice Dome.
